The World's #1 Installed & Most Preferred Fault
Recorder
|
The IDM digital fault recorder is a
distributed multi-functional data acquisition system
designed to address the data recording requirements of a
modern distribution or transmission substation. When coupled
with the master station software package, the IDM digital
fault recorder provides a powerful platform for the
acquisition, analysis and reporting of data from power
system substations.
Operating in every continent in the world
the device is used primarily in power transmission and large
distribution as a digital fault recorder, disturbance system
monitor, continuous fault recorder, synchrophasor
measurement unit, impedance fault locator and power quality
monitor.
Meeting or exceeding all power monitoring
requirements, together with its flexible and easily
upgradable nature makes it a highly competitive and cost
effective solution.
- Comprehensive - Meets or
exceeds all power monitoring requirements
- Flexible - Expandable
architecture and adaptable acquisiiton for wide ranging
customer needs
- Updatable - Cost
effective, quick and easy upgrade for legacy versions to
most up-to-date platform
- Compatible - Master
station software works with all legacy devices

Partial Discharge Monitoring
|
Continuous, on-line partial discharge
monitoring offers utilities a powerful tool to protect and
optimize the performance of their assets. PD monitoring is
the only practical method of determining the health of the
complete GIS insulation system without intrusive
inspections. Only the UHF method as developed by DMS can
assure sufficient sensitivity and noise immunity to detect
all types of PD defects in the GIS, including for example,
low level PD in voids in solid insulation materials. The
availability of reliable PD information, in conjunction with
other switchgear and system parameters such as load
currents, switching events, etc., enables realistic
assessment of short and long term operational risks and
lifetime expectations to be made.
Early warning system via PD monitoring
enables…
- Pre-failure preventative action
- Significant reduction of costs
- Reduction of inspections and
maintenance
- Prevention of expensive catastrophic
failures
- Improved quality and reliability of
power supply
- Extension of plant/transformer life
When to monitor PD phenomena…
- When the installation has a critical
function in the network such as at generation stations
or key industrial loads
- When the plant may be at risk due to
an extreme operating environment such as periodic
overloading
- When the plant is reaching old-age,
but a life-time extension is needed
- When a type failure mechanism
(systemic defect) is suspected

The Next Generation Thermometer from The Global
Leader
|
The AKM OTI/WTI is a capillary based,
remote indicating thermometer where electrical power is not
required for indication. Its broad feature set includes
configurations for oil temperature measurement and winding
temperature simulation with up to 6 flexible switches for
alarm, trip, and cooling system functions.
For more advanced remote monitoring
requirements the AKM OTI/WTI can be equipped with various
electronic outputs for SCADA system integration.
- Automate
- Accomplish the most demanding control and alarm
configurations
- Reduce
- Costs with reliable AKM bellows operation
- Minimize
- installation complexity with all-in-one design
- Simplify
- Operations by using one family of thermometer for all
environmental conditions

50% More Tank Protection During Overpressure
Events
|
The QUALITROL XPRD extra protection relief
device is a mechanical overpressure protection device with
integrated multidirectional discharge outlet. Designed by
the original creator of automatically resealing pressure
relief devices, the XPRD is the next generation in pressure
relief with stainless steel construction, the highest flow
rate during operation available, and an integrated
directional shield.
The large outlet and directional shield
provide maximum pressure relief in addition to insulating
fluid containment with optional piping on transformers
during overpressure conditions. This important feature means
that in the event of an oil discharge one can safely,
without compromising the protection of the transformer,
shield oil and gas from workers and other equipment
preventing potential disaster.
- Reduce
- Environmental impact and clean up
- Protect
- Workers and assets from dangerous hot oil and gas
exhaust
- Flexible
- Installation, features, and piping options for any
application
- Durable
- Corrosion resistant construction for long term
reliability
